Honor the Fallen with the Murph Workout in Fulshear

Why We Do Murph Every Memorial Day

At Blue Eagle Fitness & Nutrition, Memorial Day means more than just a day off. It’s a chance to honor those who gave everything by pushing ourselves to do something hard, together.

On Monday, May 26 at 9 AM, we’ll host our annual Murph Hero WOD. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, we invite you to join us for this powerful community event. Friends, family, and neighbors are welcome.

The workout:

  • 1 mile run

  • 100 pull-ups

  • 200 push-ups

  • 300 air squats

  • 1 mile run

Duration: 60 to 90 minutes including warm-up and cooldown

Workouts Will Be Tailored to the Individual

At Blue Eagle Fitness & Nutrition, we believe workouts should challenge you… not intimidate you. That’s why our coaches will tailor the Murph workout to each individual’s fitness level.

Whether you’re a seasoned CrossFitter or joining us for the first time, we’ll help you modify movements, reduce volume, or adjust pacing to match your current abilities.

You can break up the reps, perform rows in place of pull-ups, use assistance bands for push-ups, or even substitute exercises if needed. The coaches will take care of you!

Our goal is to help you complete the workout safely, confidently, and with purpose… because honoring the fallen is something everyone can do, no matter where they’re starting from.

Who Was Michael P. Murphy?

The Murph Hero WOD is named after Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005. He received the Medal of Honor for his bravery and selflessness.

This workout was one of his favorites. Every year, CrossFitters and athletes around the world complete Murph as a way to pay tribute to his sacrifice and the sacrifices of all who’ve served.

What Makes Murph Special

It's More Than a Workout

Yes, it’s physically intense. But Murph isn’t about performance—it’s about perspective. As you struggle through the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats, you’ll be reminded why we’re here: to honor courage, sacrifice, and freedom.

It's a Test of Grit

Murph isn’t easy. It’s meant to challenge your body and your mind. You’ll get tired. You’ll want to stop. But you’ll keep going—because that’s what Murph is about: resilience under pressure.

It's a Community Experience

We do Murph together. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or scaling the workout for the first time, you'll be surrounded by encouragement, high fives, and shared purpose.

It's Scalable and Inclusive

You don’t have to do all 100 pull-ups or run for miles. We’ll help you scale the workout to your level, so you can honor the intent without fear.
