Coach Luis Garcia came to fitness through a simple and honest love of the weight room. His original plan was sport performance, and he spent four years building exactly that, working with athletes on the skills, speed, and strength that separate good from great. Then CrossFit found him, and it changed everything. He discovered something in that world he had not expected: a deep fascination with how people move, how they build capacity over time, and how coaching everyday people can be just as meaningful as coaching elite ones.
Eight years later, that belief is at the center of everything he does.
Luis holds a National Council on Strength and Fitness certification and is CPR and AED certified. His coaching background is unusually broad: four years in sport performance, four years in group fitness and CrossFit. That range shows up in his approach.
He can train a high school athlete trying to earn a scholarship and a parent trying to feel better in their own body, and he brings the same attention and energy to both.
Clients describe him as fun and energetic, but do not mistake that warmth for softness. Luis is precise about form, present in every session, and he has a gift for finding the moment when a client thinks they have nothing left and showing them they do. His specialty is body composition: building muscle, developing specific areas, and helping people achieve the lean, athletic look that comes from taking both training and nutrition seriously. His own transformations prove he practices what he teaches. In 2021, he dropped 20 pounds through CrossFit-focused training to reach the best aerobic fitness of his life. In 2022, he reversed course, gained 20 pounds of muscle while staying lean enough to feel light at a heavier bodyweight, a result he credits entirely to dialing in his diet alongside his lifting.
The coaching moments that stay with him are the ones with stakes. He spent a full summer working with a baseball player on speed, strength, and sport-specific skills, and watched that athlete earn a scholarship to UTSA. He also worked with a client for a full year who lost 40 pounds through consistent effort and trust in the process. Both remind him of why patience matters as much as programming.
Outside the gym, Luis loves to travel, especially cruises that take him through the Caribbean and into new cultures. Most of his time, though, belongs to his two-year-old daughter, who is, by his own description, his whole world.
