Coach Jon Fritschle knows what it looks like to sit across from a doctor and hear words you were not expecting. In 2022, that moment came for him: a diagnosis of mild hypertension, a prescription on the table, and a quiet certainty that he did not want to spend the rest of his life depending on medication to feel healthy. So he made a different choice.

He changed his nutrition. He committed to consistent training. And he set a goal that had nothing to do with how he looked in the mirror. He wanted his health back, and he wanted it on his own terms.

By 2023, that dedication was rewarded. His doctor took him off the blood pressure medication entirely. In the six months of focused effort that built toward that moment, he also lost 22 pounds of fat and walked away from a doctor's appointment with the kind of news most people only hope for.

That transformation did not turn Jon into a different person. It made him more fully the person he already was.

For years before he ever set foot in a CrossFit gym, Jon was a coach. He coached his children through soccer seasons, football games, baseball summers, and ultimate frisbee tournaments. Somewhere in all of that, he discovered something that has stayed with him: a genuine interest in the people in front of him, a patience for the process, and a talent for helping individuals figure things out that went far beyond any sport. When his own fitness journey took root at Blue Eagle, joining the coaching team was the obvious next step.

His specialty is the part of CrossFit that most coaches do not talk about enough: scaling. Jon coaches athletes who scale, because he is one himself. He does not stand apart from his clients and point toward a standard they cannot yet reach. He stands beside them, meets them where they are, and helps them move forward from there. He has watched clients string together their first toes-to-bar, not because he handed them the movement, but because he gave them the right cues at the right moment and let them own it. If you have ever glanced at the person next to you in class and wondered whether you are falling behind, Jon is the coach who will remind you that every person in that room is on their own timeline, running their own race.

His coaching style is built on relationship, not reputation. He gets to know his clients as people, asking about family, work, kids, and hobbies, and the next time he sees you, he remembers. He will ask how your daughter's recital went, or how that project at work finally turned out. That attention is not a technique. It is simply who he is.

Outside the gym, Jon channels that same focused care into woodworking and into time with his grandchildren. He brings more than fifteen years of IT leadership to his day job at Enterprise Holdings, which means he understands something coaches sometimes forget: real change takes time, careful attention, and a plan that is built to last.
