"Fitness doesn't have to be extreme. It just has to be consistent."

I wasn't always the person coaching others toward better health. For a long time, I was the person who needed coaching most.

I spent years in corporate America, negotiating contracts worth more than $100 million for a major oil and gas company, earning a PhD in Chemistry, and checking every box that was supposed to mean I had made it. What I hadn't built was a healthy body or a sustainable life.

I woke up exhausted every morning. I relied on caffeine to function. My joints ached for no reason. I snapped at my daughters over small things. I told myself I was active because I drove my kids to their sports and activities, but if I'm being honest, I spent every one of those hours sitting on the sidelines while they ran, jumped, and laughed.

The moment that changed everything happened on a beach in Florida. I was 35 years old, wearing swim trunks, about to head down to the water with my family. I looked in the mirror and didn't recognize myself. I stepped outside, tried to run 50 yards to the water, and couldn't do it. Not couldn't do it without getting winded. I literally could not do it.

That was the wake-up call I needed.

I didn't overhaul my life overnight. I started with one small change. At the time, I was drinking 44 ounces of Coke every day at lunch, filled to the top, bubbles settled, topped off to make sure I got every drop. The first thing I did was stop topping it off. That was it. I called my approach "Don't Eat Stupid," and I added one small, smarter choice each week.

I applied the same logic to movement. I set a timer for three minutes, walked or jogged in one direction, then turned around and came home. Three minutes out, three minutes back, three days a week.

Small wins build momentum. Over the next year, I lost 25 pounds of fat and gained 8 pounds of muscle. I wasn't just lighter. I was stronger, sharper, and genuinely present for my family for the first time in years.

Two years into my journey, I discovered CrossFit and finally learned what smart, structured training actually looked like. I became a Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer and a Precision Nutrition coach, not to add letters after my name, but because I wanted to understand the science behind what was working and share it with others.

In 2018, I left corporate America, moved to Fulshear, and opened Blue Eagle Fitness & Nutrition. Since then, I have coached hundreds of busy professionals through their own version of that same journey, helping them lose weight, build strength, and reclaim the energy they thought was simply gone for good.

My approach is grounded in what I call the Five Factors of Health: Train Smart, Eat Well, Sleep Easy, Think Positively, and Build Relationships. These aren't trendy concepts. They are the simple, science-backed habits I have lived and coached for over a decade. I wrote about them in my book, One Minute Fitness, and I break them down each week on my podcast, Peak Performers Getting Fit.

Fitness doesn't have to be extreme. It just has to be consistent. If you are tired of feeling stuck, I would love to help you find your starting point.
