What to Wear at the CrossFit Gym
Must-have Equipment
Training Shoes
- Flat-soled, wide-based CrossFit shoes are the best option for almost every workout at Blue Eagle.

Shorts
Mid-thigh-length athletic shorts or lined shorts for extra comfort.
Shirts
- Breathable, quick-drying shirts made from materials like cotton-polyester blends or high-quality options like
- More expensive brands, e.g., Lululemon, have silver threads to prevent odor.
- Blue Eagle shirts are tri-blends that are relatively soft and last several years even after hundreds of sweaty workouts.
- Avoid loose-fitting clothing that can get caught on equipment and restrict movement.
- Also, avoid cotton shirts because they absorb sweat and become heavy and uncomfortable.
Grips
- Leather or isoprene grips to protect your hands and improve grip on bars. Grips can have fingerholes or be fingerless.
- My preferred grips are fingerless and made of isoprene by Element 26
Optional Equipment
Shin guards
- Protect your shins from rope climbs or barbell scrapes.
- My shin guards are made by Unbroken
Knee sleeves
- Provide stability for squatting, especially for those with knee issues.
- Knee sleeves provide compression, so you want sleeves that fit tightly around your knee.
- The brand of my knee sleeves is Ironside.
